2013 Toyota RAV4 EV

Two years ago, Toyota and Tesla Motors had entered an agreement that would net Tesla $60 million to design and manufacture an all-electric powertrain for the RAV4 SUV. Finally Toyota gave us some more details about the was the all-electric RAV4 EV will be sold to the general public during the 26th Electric Vehicle Symposium in Los Angeles today.The RAV4 EV will be available $49,800 and initially in Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles/Orange County and San Diego before the end of the year. In all, Toyota hopes to sell just 2,600 units in the next three years.

Infiniti LE Concept

Infiniti has unveiled its first electric car with the LE Concept last week at the 2012 New York Auto Show. The LE is based on on the running gear of a Nissan Leaf, but it will be Nissan Motor Company’s first luxury EV to hit the market.

The Infiniti LE Concept comes in at 186.4 inches in overall length – about the same size as the automaker’s entry-level G37 sedan. And it features a wheelbase of 106.3 inches.The LE’s 134 horsepower(the  Leaf’s motor is only rated at 107 horsepower) and 240 pound-feet of torque represent increases of 24 horses and 30 lb-ft over its less powerful sibling.However, the LE Concept’s exterior features several Infiniti design cues, such as its double-arch grille and crescent-cut rear-pillar. Far more interesting is the LE’s interior.whcih is  with the new infotainment system powered by the Intel Atom processor. The LE will also come standard with the automaker’s Personal Assistant 24-hour concierge service.

Lotus Exige S Roadster

The Lotus Exige S Roadster has made its officia debut here at the Geneva Motor Show 2012. Lotus is calling this their fastest convertible ever, equipped with the same supercharged 3.5-liter V6 of the regular Exige S and mated to a six-speed manual transmission, or a six-speed paddle-shifted automatic. This Toyota-derived V6 will deliver roughly  a total of 345 HP. This engine sprints the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and to 100 mph in 8.5 seconds.The Exige S Roadster weighs just 2,447 lbs ,and it is one of the world’s lightest six-cylinder convertibles available.Lotus says the Exige S Roadster will be sold throughout Europe and Asia, but the automaker has no plans to market the car in the United States.

Ferrari F12berlinetta

Revealed on Wednesdayin full ahead of its world debut on March 6 at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show,  the all-new F12 Berlinetta  is not only the most powerful road car in Ferrari’s history, but the fastest too.

Revealed to the world for the first time on Ferrari.com, the F12berlinetta is with  its brand new 6.3-liter V-12 engine making 740 hp at 8500 rpm and 509 lb-ft of torque, 80 percent of which is available at just 2500 rpm.Mated to a dual-clutch transmission, the car can hit 62 mph in just 3.1 seconds and hit 124 mph in just 8.5 seconds.In other words, the F12 is the most powerful road-going Ferrari ever.That brilliantly powerful engine is mated to an F1 dual-clutch transmission. The F12berlinetta’s tech specs are enhanced by Ferrari’s latest generation carbon-ceramic brakes (CCM3) and the latest evolutionary leap of Ferrari’s magnetorheological suspension control system (SCM-E). As is now traditional with all Ferraris, its control systems (E-Diff, ESC, F1-Trac, and high-performance ABS) are all fully integrated.

 

Upcoming Infiniti Emerg-E Electric Supercar

Official images from the patent office have revealed the upcoming Infiniti Emerg-E Concept that will debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on March 6th.These design illustrations  correspond perfectly with the aforementioned teaser materials.Even though some details, like the wheels, are still a mystery, we can get a pretty clear image of how the new sports car will look like, the designs showing the exact body contours from multiple angles.It is an  electric powered “uncompromising” sports car with range-extended capability  featuring a 1.2-liter engine mounted mid-ship for optimal weight distribution  and handling.More details about the new Infiniti sports concept will be revealed in the upcoming months.
